if i lived in NY…

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

if i lived in NY i would join a mindpetals event. mindpetals is a community for thinkers, seekers and innovators, founded by david askaripour, and targeted towards young entrepreneurs who want to make a difference. the founder also wrote a book (!) about the journey towards successful entrepreneurship. i like the site, and i like the tagline:

ideas to change the world
actions to preserve the environment

mindpetals - makes me want to live in NY

i wish the best of luck and success for mindpetals. inspiring! if you like mindpetals you may also like helmar.org’s inspired mind - a cool german ‘crm guru’ based in south africa, and who believes in sustainability.

about this blog

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

so… it happened. i made an “about this blog” page. on it, i admit that the former tag line “an idealistic web shop in the making” didn’t really match the content of this blog. i also share what i do, what i love and what i want. because that is what this blog is about. i celebrate the power of friendship, love & talent. including talent for business, idea generation & good thinking. amen.

2 great sites - found on springwise - for involving your friends in your pet projects. whether it be making a wrong right or saving for something special: chip in.
Make Something Happen - get to the point
Springwise writes:

The Point takes the notion of the tipping point—that point at which group action will produce a clear result and inevitable change—and applies it to organizing group efforts. Those who join a campaign pledge to take specific action—to boycott a company, for example, or donate funds toward a cause—but no one actually acts until the campaign reaches its preset tipping point, or number of pledged participants. When that point is reached, however, the action is triggered and participants make their donations, attend the event or boycott the organization.

Saving will never be the same - Smartypig.com
springwise writes:

SmartyPig offers a safe, secure way for consumers to save towards a specific goal—a wedding, remodeling project or vacation, for example—and it adds a dash of social networking and added incentives to speed up the process.

back with fill #1

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

annette bening in american beauty sits in her car and repeats: “i do NOT want to be a victim, i do NOT want to be a victim”… by focusing on these words she actually becomes the victim… rule #1 in the law of attraction; what you focus on, will happen. words chosen for any mantra therefore are of extreme importance, and so, advised by mr. lee, i have also changed the wording of mine. apparently it worked. at least one of them did.
