brilliant concept (and xmas gift idea)

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

unfortunately its not mine… but this is definately a club i will join. shirtcity prints t-shirts, underwear etc. with your own designs on them. write something or upload an image or a graphic that will then be printed on. But this is not where the beauty of this site resides. the cool thing is that you can make a series of your own designs and build a 1-2-3 shop through it. shirtcity shows a few examples such as bad and bulgrin.

wish i came up with this - and managed to build it

this afternoon i made a design of my own (a pair of undies for someone’s b-day) and look forward to see what comes out of it (payment process seemed a bit screwed but according to the site, my payment was accepted… hmmm… not so cool!). if the delivery and quality is a-ok i will definately hook up with a few cool designers and get a test shop running.

a brilliant christmas gift idea. this year you will have to purchase through shirtcity. next year you can get your to-die-for-designs through noochi.tags:, , ,

can’t keep ignoring postponing the really boring tough challenging part of building noochi: the software! the backbone platform for getting creative!? [and don’t worry - i have some very neat products in the pipeline] i think that osCommerce is the best choice. it is thoroughly tested and future-proof (although i like zen cart’s name)… i have been looking at templates just to start visualizing what my shop should look like (and it needs to be inordinately competitive in terms of both looks and functionality… if not - what fun will it be?) and i am currently considering these “minimalist” templates as a basis for take-off:

this is clean and simple and soft... but does it have levels of categories or just one big bulk? please ignore that this is a fashion template... it is clean and simple and not showcasing too many things at a time which makes it kind of classy...? not sure if the juicy apple is playing tricks with me? what is that stupid menu doing to the left of it?

a note of appreciation: i am deeply thankful to all the developers, first movers and bloggers who share their code and their thoughts and experiences. i would be utterly lost if starting from scratch! most people would. the world wide web still amazes and excites me - in the same way airplanes and telephones do! I am so thankful to have been born in 1975! i am old enough to truly appreciate the wonders of the web, and young enough to master them figure them out. Hallelujah!tags:, , ,
