6 billion others + inflatable dog

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

this man has been married for 24 years - and fell in love with his wife 2 years ago!
6billionothers is the most heart-warming site i’ve seen in a long time (thank you, ab fab o, for sending!). it beats postsecret by far. yann arthus-bertrand has interviewed people from all over the world (while photographing the earth from above), about their thoughts and feelings towards life, love, death, joy, childhood, fears and hopes. do not click the images unless you have at least an hour to spend with these beautiful people of the world…

people from all over the world share their deepest hopes, fears and dreams

i do not want to die

with no comparison to the site above, as this is a different genre, the wooster collective that celebrates cool street art, excites me. see for example this inflatable dog (i want to experiment with some plastic in my own hood. it so beautifully illustrates that less is more) or go to wooster collective’s site to see more cool and moving works of art.

inflatable dog - the coolest dog i have ever seen!!!

courageous chicks get free banners at noochi

trying to figure out why i have a “blog authority” of only 1, although my traffic is steadily increasing (to my liking, i have to admit, although i haven’t worked too hard for it), i came across these 2 well-ranked ladies. both quit their jobs, with no grand scheme for how to make a living, but with knowledge of - among other things - search optimization, copywriting and blogging. i would like to implement some of the great advice both offer. visit for their insights on life, knowledge about blogging and seo, or for their stories. very inspiring.

self made chick - thumbs up to you!

caroline middlebrook - decided to work for the better version of her life

i hope both will make money while they sleep in a not too far future. i have added these ultimate power chicks to my feed reader so i can follow their processes to succeed with their individual projects.

p.s. since i can’t rely on the volume of comments that the above ladies do, i better post this inspiring speech on making the big choices in life by apple founder steve jobs myself. you are already naked, you are going to die. there is no reason not to live.tags:, , , ,

can’t keep ignoring postponing the really boring tough challenging part of building noochi: the software! the backbone platform for getting creative!? [and don’t worry - i have some very neat products in the pipeline] i think that osCommerce is the best choice. it is thoroughly tested and future-proof (although i like zen cart’s name)… i have been looking at templates just to start visualizing what my shop should look like (and it needs to be inordinately competitive in terms of both looks and functionality… if not - what fun will it be?) and i am currently considering these “minimalist” templates as a basis for take-off:

this is clean and simple and soft... but does it have levels of categories or just one big bulk? please ignore that this is a fashion template... it is clean and simple and not showcasing too many things at a time which makes it kind of classy...? not sure if the juicy apple is playing tricks with me? what is that stupid menu doing to the left of it?

a note of appreciation: i am deeply thankful to all the developers, first movers and bloggers who share their code and their thoughts and experiences. i would be utterly lost if starting from scratch! most people would. the world wide web still amazes and excites me - in the same way airplanes and telephones do! I am so thankful to have been born in 1975! i am old enough to truly appreciate the wonders of the web, and young enough to master them figure them out. Hallelujah!tags:, , ,

blog it!

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

i am extremely pleased to have a blog installed on the noochi site. it has been a bit tricky and i needed help. I am deeply thankful to my new blog guru… who also enlightened me in the pure concept of blogging by answering any concern that i raised with: “blog it!”

I want my noochi blog to be completely honest and straight. I have this idea that the blog can help me to stick to my project and to come up with at least conceptual improvements, ideas and thoughts that will help refine the concept. And i very much hope others will join in, once i have something interesting to show or debate.

One concern is to write this blog in english although i am a Dane and may not be as articulate in english as in my mother tongue. Also, the blog’s potential readers could very well be Danes (since app. 90% of my friends and the people i know are Danes). I hope no one will feel reluctant to comment. I want to ensure that i don’t shut off any interesting and good people - and of course i want my shop (as well as the making of it) to be accessible to the global market. I want to place my brother’s anthology Blæk on a coffee table in San Fran, I want my friends’ paintings on the walls of cool homes in Lisbon, I want to put a cool t-shirt on some hottie in Bangladesh. And so… English it is!tags:, ,
