about this blog

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

so… it happened. i made an “about this blog” page. on it, i admit that the former tag line “an idealistic web shop in the making” didn’t really match the content of this blog. i also share what i do, what i love and what i want. because that is what this blog is about. i celebrate the power of friendship, love & talent. including talent for business, idea generation & good thinking. amen.tags:, , ,

back with fill #1

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

annette bening in american beauty sits in her car and repeats: “i do NOT want to be a victim, i do NOT want to be a victim”… by focusing on these words she actually becomes the victim… rule #1 in the law of attraction; what you focus on, will happen. words chosen for any mantra therefore are of extreme importance, and so, advised by mr. lee, i have also changed the wording of mine. apparently it worked. at least one of them did.

wel come man

i have just returned from the magnificant goa. the poverty and the corruption is as cruel as the beaches, nature, and people are amazing and full of grace. people have so little, and therefore become brilliant - as they have to unleash all of their talents and creativity to survive. and though sometimes cheeky, and sometimes using semi-manipulating storytelling to obtain full sales impact, people are honest, open and full of trust. i have never before seen such charming national traits. man power is so easily found and people are hungry for work. waiters working from 7 in the morning till 11 at night every day of the week make as little as 100 rupees (app 3$) per day and often are not allowed to keep tips. a fisher man or field worker make as little as 25 rupees per day. and mind you; this is in goa where indians from all over the country come to work, as tourism = money is mainly to be found here. the opportunities for win-win situations seem endless. we (ab fab o and yours truly) want to do good. make good people rich. help if we can.

i want to go back to goa asap
ab fab o took these pictures.
this little business in the sand (decorate a cardboard box, place it in the sand and you’re in business) as shown on photo above inspired me to think that noochi should have an indian corner (and a theme corner from anywhere that i travel to, really). the next time i go, i will bring a laptop and upload photos of nice handicrafts for sale for as long as i am there. i will simply ship the goods on location, and thus not have to worry about storage or anything. how cool would that be. total zen!tags:, , ,

baby steps

finally got bluetooth working to import pics from phone to pc.

Tag in Skydebanegade where I live - in bright sunshine no, we are not sisters
a tag (plastered on - which is why the ear casts a shadow) in the sunny side of my street

the images above and the images below, of a grand female animal in a window of a tiny art shop (galerie jerome - no web presence) in copenhagen, are merely examples of pics i thought would look cool here, but don’t really…

this woman/ animal in a window caught my attention somehow spoke to me dunno why chubby female art has such an impact on me...

i went out with my bright friend sanya earlier this week. she told me to make a really good elevator speech (thought i had one, but i guess i didn’t), and to make a proper business plan (target groups, timeline and unique selling points included) before anything else. the rest, she claimed as i complained about having to deal with oscommerce, is nothing but practicalities. i think she might be right.

my day job right now demands my full attention, so noochi is momentarily on a side track… but at least i got bluetooth to work, which is one thing off my to do list

will power

Friday, October 26th, 2007

i have a very dear friend in minneapolis. william aka will. we met 5-6 years ago when attending msib-training at microsoft in mountain view. neither of us gave a damn about msib, but we had an almost instant connection and quickly became friends. it makes me feel very blessed that we have stayed in touch and that our friendship has grown although we innate in different continents. this summer, william visited denmark for the first time (+ we had a laugh in amsterdam), and we had a jolly good time. once back home, he made a package for me with lovely photos and excellent music, which happened to arrive on what would otherwise have been a really low day!

half of me photographed by will outside our hotel in keisergracht... you draw the conclusion

i almost think william and i have some kind of spiritual connection - because once again he sent me a present with a timing that couldn’t have been better; 2 delicious books - one of them the four agreements which worked like medicine.

living these agreements will make you truly free:

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word (say only what you mean - use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love)
2. Don’t Take Anything Personally (what others say and do is a projection of their own reality… or as deepak puts it: forgive idiots - they can’t help it everyone is doing the best they can from their own level of consciousness…)
3. Don’t Make Assumptions
4. Always Do Your Best (amen to that!)

the other book, the secret has a good and complimenting concept, namely that you have to think positive thoughts to attract positive energies. so far, i have found the style of it to be a tit bit condescending… however my friend louise and i tried an exercise from it: close your eyes and smile for one minute, while focusing on feeling good. within 30 secs we were actually laughing and so concluded that the secret worked!

when your mouth smiles, you are more likely to feel happy (try it for instant results). william is someone whose bare existence will always remind of this fact. thank you for sharing your power!tags:, , , , ,

great answer - try again

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I had have a truly excellent mentor – mr. lee - who is one of my inspirations for coming up with and realising noochi. he is gifted with an ability to ask the right questions and to spread his words of wisdom when needed. yesterday, we chatted about Kōan practice. there are different views on how to practice kōan, and even of how to define it, but i liked what he said:

zen - do not zzz

Meditate on a question (or simply pose a question to yourself, unless you happen to be a friggin’ cool zen master) such as: 2 hands clap and make a sound; what is the sound of just one hand? Every time you answer, the response (from yourself or from your “master”) is that your answer is a good answer, but not the right one. Not until this has been repeated between 7-15 times you are allowed to end your train of thoughts. This will challenge your way of thinking and furthen your ability to broaden your horizon.

being pragmatic, one could ask any question, not necessarily a deeply philosophical one: what makes me happy? or how can i contribute to make this world a better one? or even just how do i make the most out of the coming weekend? the method is likely to ensure that you get around any issue in a way that adds to your insights. that is a good thing. thanks for sharing, mr. lee!

p.s. when i checked with mr. lee if i could post the above, he commented that my noochi blog leaves an after taste like that of eating a caramel with really nice glossy paper on it! I totally get the point and am working on it… Promise…tags:, , , ,

love gives wings

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

For years i have been wearing a pair of earrings looking like a set of black keys from zarah voight. no other jewellery could quite top them, and they were often commented (how clever, you always have your keys with you!, are those the keys to your heart, blah blah). When I lost one of them, it was very difficult to replace.

my outrageously beautiful and talented friend viola (definately the style icon in my aalborg circle of girlfriends, although she will deny any such thing) then gave me a very cool pair of black wings from tattydevine (tatty also makes sweet packaging - noochi wants cool packaging too) - and i felt like i had been “unlocked” and called to fly. in time i will manage to lift noochi from the ground with these wings! thanks viola - for wings to fly

My day job (I believe that is the term…) is no picnic and so the timeline for the noochi web shop is not fixed and i have no intentions of stressing myself with it. It has to be made out of love and belief, in its own time. This is why a post on earrings the powerful qualities of friendship qualifies for this blog!?
