2 great sites - found on springwise - for involving your friends in your pet projects. whether it be making a wrong right or saving for something special: chip in. Springwise writes:
The Point takes the notion of the tipping point—that point at which group action will produce a clear result and inevitable change—and applies it to organizing group efforts. Those who join a campaign pledge to take specific action—to boycott a company, for example, or donate funds toward a cause—but no one actually acts until the campaign reaches its preset tipping point, or number of pledged participants. When that point is reached, however, the action is triggered and participants make their donations, attend the event or boycott the organization.
SmartyPig offers a safe, secure way for consumers to save towards a specific goal—a wedding, remodeling project or vacation, for example—and it adds a dash of social networking and added incentives to speed up the process.
annette bening in american beauty sits in her car and repeats: “i do NOT want to be a victim, i do NOT want to be a victim”… by focusing on these words she actually becomes the victim… rule #1 in the law of attraction; what you focus on, will happen. words chosen for any mantra therefore are of extreme importance, and so, advised by mr. lee, i have also changed the wording of mine. apparently it worked. at least one of them did.
6billionothers is the most heart-warming site i’ve seen in a long time (thank you, ab fab o, for sending!). it beats postsecret by far. yann arthus-bertrand has interviewed people from all over the world (while photographing the earth from above), about their thoughts and feelings towards life, love, death, joy, childhood, fears and hopes. do not click the images unless you have at least an hour to spend with these beautiful people of the world…
with no comparison to the site above, as this is a different genre, the wooster collective that celebrates cool street art, excites me. see for example this inflatable dog (i want to experiment with some plastic in my own hood. it so beautifully illustrates that less is more) or go to wooster collective’s site to see more cool and moving works of art.
have not yet filled up the light bulbs below with ideas. but i at least had a creative outlet and shaded one. it does not quite resemble the original, but it is cool in its own way.
first there were big balloons, plaster, cotton thread, ph5 socket, ab fab o and yours truly… and now; there is light.
they will not go into mass production, although i think the flaws are quite fab.
i was told that many americans who read the secret (aka the law of attraction) sleep with an over size million dollar cheque plastered to the ceiling above their bed. i will keep these next to my bed instead.
first there was mr. eco + basco 5, then it was all newly painted and - apparantly - way too tempting, and now there is this - in the gate to west end, copenhagen.
don’t be naive! said my newly appointed and always brilliant business coach mr. lee. you need to make money with this project. and although this to me has seemed secondary, i am so-so aware that money is the only one of the main reasons i haven’t quit my day job to set my own agenda.
homework: sketch a few business models for how to make a living out of this project.
this made me re-think my first idea… and go into phase 2, which then of course, represents new challenges. i hope my brain will soon explode with a beautiful plan. it is warming up thoroughly. thank you so much, mr. lee. and thank you so much, utterly cool carla, who founded artrebels (and who btw, will rock the friggin world with it!), who was nice enough to meet with me, and share some very valuable insights and concerns (now included in my second take).
when i “handed in” my employers’ new web site, i composed a thorough thank you speech for the company intranet. my boss said she got associations to the oscars. however; saying thank you does not mean one is done. the website i manage still has major flaws, as does my business idea… but it is satisfying to see things grow in the right direction, and in a direction that i myself is responsible for. and so i thank the people that follow my ideas and development debate with me on a most regular basis. thank you! and i thank the people that are good enough to pop up as bright stars of inspiration on a cloudy night. thank you!
money makes my brain the world go ’round, because money is needed for potential to unfold and to become some sort of love of life! not just for me. love. in the becoming.
here is my the nation’s buddy, thomas blachman, addressing 2 million danes in prime time national live tv, with a powerful message (how friggin cool is that?!?):
we need a national project (implied; not x-factor) = we need to share our love
we need a 4-day work week
we need to meet one day a week to grow and share our real interests
i have heard thomas say this before, and it really is a brilliant idea. in denmark, we can actually afford to educate ourselves, and to continue to do so. take a moment to think about it? what would happen, if we met one day a week, across culture, religion, educational background, income, to unfold, share and perfection our potentials and ideas? if we all grew our human revenue and put it into a big pool of peace, love and understanding? i myself can not come up with a better idea that, in a relatively simple way, would intervene with the status of society from the inside and out, to make it a better one. can you?
